Tattletail is a heavy reference to the real-life electronic toy Furby, seemingly more specifically the Funky Furby. In reality, the team was led by game designer Ben Esposito, and designer/co-designer Geneva Hodgson (who also voices Mama Tattletail and the phone operator on the last night), along with lead programmer Tom Astle and cartoonist Ryann Shannon (who also voices Baby Talking Tattletail). The game was published under the name of the in-universe toy company Waygetter Electronics.Tattletail™ Release Trailer Official Trivia

Throughout the campaign, the player follows a series of notes (presumably by a Waygetter Electronics employee) while trying to uncover the mysteries behind The Kaleidoscope, a dangerous place where all memories are stored. There is also a second campaign called the Kaleidoscope Campaign, in which the Protagonist's memories of Tattletail have been tampered with, and they must find the cause of all of their false memories. Collecting all 22 of the eggs will result in the player achieving the 'good' ending of the game. Over the course of the game, a series of ' Gift Eggs', presumably laid by the Tattletail toy line, are placed throughout the house. The player is advised to move away from Mama before shaking the flashlight. However, the flashlight creates noise when shook, so the player must be careful about when and where they shake. Baby Talking Tattletail is afraid of the dark (and is quite vocal about it), creating a necessity to replenish the flashlight by shaking it quickly. The Player acquires a shake flashlight to navigate the house, but Mama Tattletail kills the player's flashlight when she starts patrolling, and whenever they look directly at her. Failure to do so will result in Mama attacking the player in a jumpscare, ending the game. While completing a set task, the player must avoid Mama by staying quiet when she is near (indicated by her mechanical grinding noises). While Baby Talking Tattletail doesn't directly harm the player, it is prone to generating a lot of noise, which alerts Mama Tattletail to the player's location (probably why he is called "Tattletail"). We'd love to hear your feedback! Please report all sightings of Mama Tattletail to Waygetter Electronics.įor the five nights leading up to Christmas, the Protagonist, a child, must tend to their Baby Talking Tattletail toy by feeding it, grooming it and recharging it while completing a set of objectives (called tasks in the game) on each night. This is our first game as Waygetter Electronics.

  • DO NOT MAKE LOUD NOISES NEAR MAMA TATTLETAIL.
  • Can you keep him out of trouble until Christmas day? Or will Mama Tattletail find her baby and hunt you down first? I heard she was recalled after she ate a kid's eyes out. You opened your Tattletail before Christmas, and now he won't stay in his box. Tattletail is a short, story-driven first person horror game about everyone's favorite talking toy from the 90's. Unlike the baby Tattletails, Mama Tattletail toys seem to have only been made in one color. There's not much reference online but the original version, Mama Tattletail, was recalled years earlier.

They share the cream-colored underbelly and muzzle of their younger kin, but are larger in size, have brown eyes and fur, a white tuft of hair on their heads and a tape-deck in their stomachs.

Their ears are the same size as those of the Baby Tattletails, and are smaller in comparison to their bodies as a result. The Mama Tattletail seen in Tattletail is the primary and only threat of the game, and has the appearance of a normal-looking Mama Tattletail toy. After going evil, however, she has torn ears, darker-colored fur and her eyes disappear, revealing glowing red LEDs. Her tape-deck's cover also seems to be missing. During the jumpscare sequence, she lunges at you, her head spins rapidly, and her mouth opens wide, revealing six very sharp, pointy teeth. Mama Tattletail was designed to read stories to children via the use of various pre-recorded cassette tapes. The tapes seem to have been accompanied by books for the children to read along with, judging by the inclusion of "turn the page" in the tape heard in-game. Mama Tattletail's head would rotate while the tape was being played. Mama Tattletail does not speak unless the tape is inserted, and may be unable to speak without a tape. Mama Tattletail is attracted to loud noises and will follow The Protagonist around based on the noises they or their Tattletail make. If the player approaches Mama Tattletail, or makes a loud noise too close to her, she will attack. Mama Tattletail's attack kills the Protagonist instantly. She can move around the house, but only when the player isn't looking directly at her. Looking directly at Mama Tattletail causes the player's Flashlight to go out.
